Where we are

What the agency is built to do

Fiskeruta AS is an established Norwegian seafood business, and Fish of Norway is the export agency built on top of it. The agency is built to become the world’s leading seafood sourcing and export agency.

The way it intends to get there is by being the one that standardises offers, verifies documents against the issuing register, and answers the phone when a container arrives warm.

Roles

Who does what in a trade

Exporting seafood from Norway is a regulated activity. Registration with the Norwegian Seafood Council, establishment approval from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, the health certificate for each consignment and the catch certificate for wild-caught product are held by, and issued to, the producer or exporter of record. Fiskeruta AS acts as sourcing agent: it sources from approved suppliers, verifies their approvals and certificates against the issuing register, standardises the offers and coordinates documents and freight. The seller and the exporter of record are named separately in every offer, order confirmation and contract, and the buyer is the importer of record.

Fish of Norway is the trading name of Fiskeruta AS, a Norwegian seafood sourcing agent. Requests are received and handled by Fiskeruta AS; the seller and the exporter of record are named in every offer.

Suppliers

Producers we source from

Every certificate belongs to a supplier and a production site, never to Fish of Norway. The offer states which supplier and which site each certificate covers, and we check it against the issuing register before the offer reaches you.

First Seafood AS

One of the producers Fish of Norway sources salmon from. Establishment approvals, export registration and product certificates are held by the supplier and its production sites, and are stated per offer.
