Landed cost
Landed cost is what a kilo of Norwegian salmon actually costs on your floor in the United States: the quoted price converted to net fish weight, plus freight, insurance, duty, customs clearance and inland delivery, plus our fee as a separate line. This page lists every line, shows who pays it under each Incoterm, and gives you a calculator that uses your own rates — nothing is pre-filled, and no rate is published.
The lines
Every line below exists on every import. Which of them sit in the seller’s price depends on the Incoterm, which is why two offers with the same unit price can differ by a wide margin on the floor.

Under FCA Oslo Airport the buyer’s forwarder takes over at the airport; under CIF the seller has paid ocean freight and minimum insurance to the US port; under DAP the seller delivers to the named place with import clearance still on the buyer. DDP, where the seller also clears and pays duty, is rare in this trade.
HS codes
The six-digit HS code is international and fixed; the US tariff line adds digits and the rate. These are the codes for the salmon forms we trade. Use them to look up your own duty — we do not publish a rate we cannot stand behind on the day you clear.
Calculator
Enter the unit price you have been quoted, the weight basis, the freight, insurance, duty and clearance rates you hold, and the calculator converts the offer to landed cost per net kilo in US dollars. Change the Incoterm and the lines the seller already carries drop out.
Landed cost
We do not publish a fish price, because a number with no volume, Incoterm or validity is not information. What we publish is the arithmetic. Enter the rates you have been quoted — nothing is pre-filled — and the calculator converts the offer to a single comparable basis: net of glaze or ice, one Incoterm, one currency, every line named. The result is an estimate.
Questions
It is not a single number. It is the quoted price on net weight, plus freight, insurance, duty, clearance and inland delivery, plus the agent fee, on the day you clear. Rates for freight and duty change; that is why we publish the arithmetic and a calculator, not a figure that would be wrong by the time you read it.
Weight basis and Incoterm. A price on gross weight includes ice or glaze you are paying for as if it were fish. A CIF price already contains ocean freight and minimum insurance; an FCA price contains neither. Convert both to net weight and one Incoterm before comparing.
We can quote DAP to a named place. Import clearance and duty stay with the US importer of record, which in practice is you or your broker. Ask for DAP in the request and the offer states the named place.
