What we collect, and why

When you submit a request for quotation we collect the company name, contact name, email address, telephone number and country you enter, together with the commercial content of the request itself and any file you attach. We do not ask for and do not want personal data beyond what a business enquiry requires.

The web server records the IP address of requests to the enquiry endpoint for a short period in order to limit abuse of the form. This is not linked to the enquiry content for any other purpose.

We process the data in order to source against your requirement, obtain offers from suppliers, and respond to you. The legal basis is the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request prior to entering into one, and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the enquiry service.

The commercial content of a request — species, specification, volume, destination, delivery window — is shared with the suppliers we approach so that they can quote. Your identity is not disclosed to a supplier without your agreement where you have asked us to keep it confidential.

Enquiry notifications are delivered by an email service provider acting as our data processor. Hosting is provided by our platform supplier. Both process data on our instruction under a data processing agreement.

Where a request concerns a market outside the EEA, the commercial content is shared with counterparties in that market. Where a processor stores data outside the EEA, the transfer is made on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Enquiries that do not lead to a trade are deleted after 24 months. Where a trade follows, transaction records are kept for as long as Norwegian accounting and customs legislation requires, currently five years from the end of the financial year.

You may request access to the personal data we hold about you, correction of anything inaccurate, deletion where we have no continuing legal basis, restriction of processing, and a copy in a portable format. You may object to processing based on legitimate interest.

Requests are answered at sales@fishofnorway.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).

This site sets no analytics or advertising cookies. If measurement is introduced, consent will be requested before any non-essential cookie is set, and this statement will be updated to name the tools before they are switched on.
