Specification
The same fish is four different products, at four different prices.
Whole, fillet, portion, cube. Form decides yield, shelf life, freight cost and who can buy it — which is why the request form asks for the form before it asks for the volume.
How these products are quoted
Every product here is quoted against a written specification, not a list price. Species, product form, size or weight band, packing, volume per delivery and the Incoterm you want the price on are the six fields that decide what a Norwegian supplier can offer. Two offers are only comparable when all six are fixed, which is why the specification on each product page is set out in the order a supplier reads it.
Availability follows biology and quota, not a warehouse. Salmon and fjord trout are harvested through the year. Skrei is a January-to-April fishery, mackerel and herring run from autumn, and king crab, snow crab and cold-water prawns are fished against quota. Where a species is out of season, the calendar on its page shows when it returns — and nothing is substituted from another origin without being named.
