Shellfish
Snow crab
Chionoecetes opilio
Barents Sea snow crab, cooked and frozen at sea in clusters. A newer Norwegian fishery with growing volume.

Snow crab is harvested with pots in the Barents Sea and processed on board — cooked, brine-frozen and graded into clusters before the vessel returns. That single-handling chain is why the product arrives with better texture than most shore-processed crab.
The North American and Japanese markets set the price, and both grade on cluster size and meat fill. Buyers should specify both; cluster weight alone says nothing about yield.
